June 30, 2014

Married 50 Years

Apostle Phillip F. Cargile, Sr., Overseer of The First Born Church of the Apostolic Faith, was born to the late Elder Charles and late Reverend Mother Derris Cargile (S.C.). First Lady Ruth Cargile was born to the late Mr. Albert and Mrs. Viola Brown Sr. (Ga.). The word of God says “Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing and obtaineth favour of the Lord.” Proverbs 18:22 Rev. Cargile did that when he met his future wife, Ruth Ann Brown, in the summer of 1962 at Volunteer Faith Center in Elizabeth, N.J. Two years later they were wed in holy matrimony at the Elizabeth Christian Church in Elizabeth, N.J. on June 27, 1964. From this union came five children, Andrea, Lena (Shedrick), Valerie (Charlie), late Phillip Jr. and Anitra (John). They have eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

You’ve spent your lives together walking closely, hand in hand. For fifty years you have worked, loved and continued to grow leaning on and trusting in the Lord Jesus. You’ve been blessed with the fulfillment of so many things you’d planned. As you celebrate your anniversary, may the Lord continue to bless you with many more happy years together...hand in hand and heart with heart.

Love always, your children.
