3 charged with assault after York fight

The HeraldJuly 3, 2014

— Twin brothers were arrested on assault and battery charges and warrants have been issued for a third suspect in connection with a York fight involving brass knuckles.

The trio is accused of confronting a group of men who were helping a woman retrieve her belongings from a home on Garden Brook Trail in York, according to a York County Sheriff's Office report.

The 22-year-old victim said he was waiting in the driveway Tuesday evening when Robert Dover, 19, told him to leave and then struck him with a brass knuckle. A passenger got out and tried to stop Dover, but twins Jarrett Knight and Garret Knight began punching the second victim in the face and stomach, the report states.

Dover is also accused of hitting the rear windshield and trunk of the car causing $400 in damage. The brass knuckles became stuck in the trunk of the Honda and were recovered and placed in evidence.

The report does not indicate if Dover or any others were injured during the incident.

The woman returned the car and the group left to call police.

Deputies were unable to locate the assault suspects Tuesday night. Jarrett Knight and Garret Knight, both 19, of Rock Hill turned themselves in on Thursday morning, and are charged with third degree assault and battery. Warrants have been issued for Dover charging him with second degree assault and malicious injury to personal property.
