ROCK HILL — The chairman of the Rock Hill school board will seek another term in this November's election.
Jim Vining, who has been on the board since 1998, posted the announcement to his blog on Friday morning.
"It has been my honor to have served the residents of Rock Hill School District Three and I am extremely appreciative for their strong support of our schools," the statement said.
The statement also said Vining wanted to "keep the focus on academic progress as we transition into new leadership and technology."
Vining serves in an at-large seat. Along with Vining, two other board seats are up for grabs in November. The terms of both Ginny Moe, who serves in District 2 and Jane Sharp, who serves in District 4, expire this year.
Formal filing for the November election opens on August 1.
