COLUMBIA -- As ubiquitous as Stephen Garcia has been on the South Carolina sports map the past 20 months, it's easy to forget the Gamecocks quarterback has made one career start.
The coach left his mid-major program after a Sweet 16 appearance. He took over a dying men's basketball program in the SEC East, which many thought a hopeless task. The coach proved them wrong. Through the force of his personality and his up-tempo style of play, he made the team a winner. That coach was Bruce Pearl at Tennessee, who was hired four years ago. Someday, Darrin Horn hopes they say the same thing about him at South Carolina.

arrett Lee went 16-of-26 for 189 yards and LSU held South Carolina to minus-7 yards in the fourth quarter and the No. 13 Tigers beat the Gamecocks 24-17 on Saturday. LSU (5-1, 3-1 SEC) took the lead for good on Charles Scott's 2-yard touchdown run with 4:16 to go. It capped a grinding, 83-yard drive that took more than six minutes off the clock.
