Winthrop forward Daniel Revivo has been selected as the Big South Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week for the opening weekend of the season.
Revivo, a senior from Richmond Hill, Ontario, recorded four goals in the Eagles' 4-1 win over Lipscomb on Aug. 31, at the Soccer for a Cure Classic. Revivo recorded the second four-goal game of his career. His first goal tied the game on a free kick. He scored the game winner on an assist from teammate Otto Loewy.
Revivo's third goal came on a through ball as he beat the final defender, and his fourth goal came in the 90th minute as he took a loose ball and put it in the back of the net. For his efforts in the tournament, Revivo was named to the Soccer For a Cure All-Tournament Team.
Also nominated for men's soccer player of the week for Week 1: Carlos Recinos (Coastal Carolina), Karo Okiomah (High Point), Darren Amoo (Liberty) and Jay Stewart (Presbyterian).
