McBEE — Great Falls turned in a superlative defensive effort, and matched it with a dominant ground game to subdue McBee 35-6.

The Red Devils amassed 295 yards on the ground while holding the Panthers to just 102 total yards. McBee’s lone touchdown came on an interception return.

Terrance Jeter had a breakout game for the Red Devils, accounting for four touchdowns. He ran for 126 yards and three touchdowns on 12 carries, in addition to returning the opening kickoff of the second half for a touchdown.

“The defense proved to be the difference in the game,” Great Falls coach Kenny Schofield said. “We did what we had to on offense to score, but the defense …”

Doug Lamar carried the ball three times for 36 yards and a touchdown for the Red Devils, Detron Johnson added 78 yards on seven carries, and A.J. Squirewell added another 55 yards on seven carries.

“We were very physical,” Schofield said. “Probably the most physical ballgame I’ve seen in quite a while.”

Gaither Bumgardner was 3-for-10 for 37 yards through the air.
