Lancaster defeated Spring Valley 7-6 in the Region 4-AAAA regular-season finale for both teams on Friday. The Bruins used four second-half stops in their own territory to pull out the victory. With the win, Lancaster (7-4, 2-3) all but secured a road game in next week's playoffs.

The 88 players for this year's SCADA North-South All-Star Football Game were chosen on Monday, and the list includes six Herald-area players.
The Northwestern Trojans used a 26-2 first quarter and went on to double up the Lancaster Bruins, 74-37, in the Region 3-AAAA opener for both teams.
