Downtown Chester is all about HILLarity during its 19th annual festival featuring rides, food and music on three stages. The ninth annual CC Fall Fest Bluegrass Festival will start at 10 a.m. at the Cross Country Camp Ground in Denver, N.C. Featured bands include: Flatout Bluegrass, Southern Express, Timber Ridge, Cabin Creek, Southern Junction, and The Carolina Mountain Boys Reunion. Open mike will run from 11 a.m. to noon. The South Carolina Native Plant Society and the Culture & Heritage Museums will explore the Piedmont's Fading Flower as part of the Native Plant Series from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Museum of York County, 4621 Mount Gallant Road in Rock Hill. Efforts to save the Schweinitz's sunflower have been ongoing since 1991, when the plant became recognized as a federally endangered species. Tickets cost $5 plus admission to the museum.
The Charlotte Bobcats will take on the Milwaukee Bucks in a 7 p.m. preseason game at the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte.
