The Herald’s inaugural “20 Under 30” class is a diverse bunch: teachers, business leaders, attorneys, athletes and others.

All were born after the original theatrical release of “Star Wars.” Some were born during Ronald Reagan’s second term in office.

They’re young, yes, but many already are making a difference through their professions, their civic work or the personal inspiration they provide, those who know them say.

In York, Chester and Lancaster counties, more than 121,000 people are younger than 30, according to the U.S. Census. These are the people who will help lead their communities well into the 21st century.

With this in mind, The Herald’s “20 under 30” spotlights 20 individuals younger than 30 nominated by co-workers, business associates and friends as “rising stars” who bring unique skills, traits and personalities to the work force and help make their communities better places to work and live.
