Black leaders in York County, South Carolina, are urging two white state senators to appoint the first-ever black township judge in Rock Hill. The leaders, including York County Councilman William “Bump” Roddey, made their case that Mandrile Young should be appointed.

York Tech camp in Rock Hill teaches kids how to design video games

Students in grades eighth-through-12th learned how to design their own video games at York Technical College's Science, Technology, Engineering and Math, or STEM, summer camp this week. The classes are being offered through a partnership with the Rock Hill Economical Development Corporation, which helped pay for the camp. At the end of the week, the campers should be able to take away a three-dimensional working game.
