Iconic Varsity Restaurant in Rock Hill closes, property sold

The Varsity Restaurant with its famous Watkins hot dogs is closed after owners Roy and Darlene Russell sold it to Chad McGowan, who owns and operates the thriving Legal Rsemedy brew pub and restaurant across the street on Oakland Avenue between downtown Rock Hill and Winthrop University.

Man pays $212 speeding ticket with only pennies

Brett Sanders of Texas was upset about having to pay a fine for speeding. In a video that has now gone viral, Sanders wrote, "I was convicted by a jury for driving 39 in a 30 and was subject to $212 at the barrel of a gun." In response, he paid his ticket with thousands of pennies.
