Rock Hill workers demolished a sidewalk. Turns out the walkway was tombstones

Construction workers in Rock Hill, South Carolina, were demolishing a walkway on May 24, 2018 when they found the sidewalk was made from tombstones. The workers said they wanted to "do the right thing" and make sure the stones were not stolen from families, especially before Memorial Day because several of the names on the stones were of military veterans.

York County cop shooter asks for forgiveness, mercy; wounded officer lets court judge

Christian McCall asked for forgiveness and mercy from the officers he wounded and the family of the officer he killed in January when pleading guilty Tuesday, May 22, 2018, in a York County, South Carolina courtroom. Sheriff's deputy Sgt. Buddy Brown said it is not his place "to judge" McCall but did not say he forgave McCall for shooting him and three of his fellow officers.

Sunday afternoon, May 27, 2018 was the 32nd annual Memorial Day weekend ceremony at Lakeview Memory Gardens outside York. Speakers Sunday read all 215 names of York County men who died in wars since World War I, including a soldier from Fort Mill.
