Dining Out

  • The barbecue's enticing at Lake Wylie's Pit

Rainy, chilly weather sent us across the Lake Wylie Plaza parking lot to the BBQ Pit to fuel up and warm up for lunch.

  • Don't pass up on Flamingo

For years, I've passed by the Flamingo Food & Spirits off Carowinds Boulevard, near Interstate 77. Recently, a friend and I stopped in for lunch. We were delightfully surprised by the better-than-average bar food with unique offerings such as fried frog legs and the friendly atmosphere from staff and fellow patrons.

  • The Front Porch beckons you to sit, dine, relax

Stepping up to the blackboard never tasted so good as it does in Richburg. I learned that lesson recently on a trip home from the zoo in Columbia, when a tired but hungry lot of family members dropped in and sat a spell at The Front Porch.

  • Fall is just the time for a stop by Just Fresh

The cool October weather puts me in a soup state of mind. When I'm looking for something quick, but still on the healthier side, I head to Just Fresh in RiverGate shopping center in Steele Creek. There, I can warm up with a tasty soup and get a filling sandwich, too.

  • A flavorful meal at good prices

The excitement at Citizen Corners in downtown Rock Hill is infectious. This fine dining Southern restaurant where South Carolina Low Country meets New Orleans was just what I was looking for — a fine dinner experience all about flavor with meals at comparable prices.
