Chester County sheriff's deputies made two arrests over the weekend in an alleged prostitution ring.
Sheriff Robby Benson said the arrests were made Friday night at Moon River, a strip club near Richburg. According to Benson, the club allegedly served as a front for prostitution.
Arrested and charged with prostitution was Adrienne Mack of Rock Hill, a 29-year-old dancer at the club. The club owner, Roberto Rovira, 60, of Rock Hill, was arrested and charged with lewdness, sheriff's deputies said.
Mack remained in custody Sunday and Rovira was released Saturday on bond, Benson said.
Benson said the department had been working on the case for a couple of months.
"We'd been getting complaints from people in the area," said Benson.
Benson said Rovira and his wife told him they were opening a Cuban cuisine restaurant and a small bar. But after obtaining a bar license, according to Benson, Rovira and his wife instead opened a strip club.
