Fort Mill water boil advisory lifted

The Town of Fort Mill has repealed its water boil advisory that had been in effect in some areas since Friday.

The advisory was lifted at about 5 p.m. when town officials received lab results showing that the water was okay to drink without boiling.

A break in the water main at the intersection of Grier and Skipper streets left thousands of people without water Friday afternoon. After the break was repaired, town officials told residents between the intersections of U.S. 21 and U.S. 160 and Tom Hall Road and Springfield Parkway, plus residents in the Sutton Road area who get water from the Riverview water system, to boil their water until the supply was tested.
