The Panthers decided they couldn't wait on RT Jeff Otah any longer.
With a rash of injuries at other positions, notably running back, they placed him on injured reserve Tuesday.
Otah underwent an arthroscopic knee surgery in August, and the original plan was that he'd be ready to come back by the second or third week of the regular season. But a setback in his rehab pushed that timetable back.
With the three roster spots they had to fill, the Panthers claimed RB Andre Brown off waivers from Indianapolis, and re-signed RB Josh Vaughan and LB Abdul Hodge.
