Buffer workshop Wednesday
LAKE WYLIE -- The York County Planning & Development Services Department invites the public to the Lake Wylie/Catawba River Buffer Workshop from 6 to 8 p.m. April 23 at Crowders Creek Elementary School, 5515 Charlotte Hwy.
In September of last year, more than 100 local residents packed a York County meeting to voice concerns on possible changes to the county's lake buffer rules. The first of several planned public participation meetings was set for December, though meetings have not been held since.
The December meeting focused on the current buffer ordinance and how the rules are enforced, while later meetings were to examine whether changes needed to be made. Anyone interested in helping create changes to the ordinance is welcome to participate.
Never miss a local story.
