STEELE CREEK -- The CSC 96 Fire of Steele Creek Athletic Association clinched the Julian Brown Memorial Tournament's U-11 Boys Premiere Championship on April 20 at Manchester Meadows in Rock Hill.
"They displayed amazing soccer skills and teamwork," said Earline King, team manager.
In their first match April 19 at Winget Park in Steele Creek, they controlled Weddington Soccer 96 Black to finish with a 3-0 win. In the second match of the day, the Fire once again dominated, defeating Greensboro, S.C., 96 Dynamo in a 6-1 win.
The boys continued their ball possession and field supremacy on April 20 by defeating Charlotte United FC 96 San Lorenzo 2-0 in the tournament's semi-finals at Winget Park.
In the finals at Rock Hill, the Fire once again displayed ball control and field domination by outplaying their opponent, Charlotte United FC 96 Ajax, with a 2-0 win.
"The Fire displayed great teamwork, soccer skills and sportsmanship to complete the tournament with a 4-0-0 record," said Coach Robert King.
