ROCK HILL -- Mrs. Viola Smarr Floyd, 91, formerly of 11 Pinckney St., York, passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2007, at Agape Senior Services in Rock Hill, S.C.
Mrs. Floyd was born on March 16, 1916, the only child of the late Daniel and Mamie King Smarr. Mrs. Floyd will be remembered by her children and grandchildren as kind, caring and loving.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Floyd Sr. and her daughter, Elizabeth "Jigg" Floyd Jackson.
Surviving are her beloved children, a son, William "June" Floyd Jr.; two daughters, Mamie Nichols (R.J.) and Patricia Thacker (Ethoia); 20 grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 15, 2007 at Fishing Creek Baptist Church in York, S.C. The Rev. Reginald McClain will be officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Saturday, July 14, 2007 at Wright Funeral Home in York and other times at the home of Patricia Thacker, 11 Pinckney St.
