FORT MILL -- Mrs. Joan Hopkins Hill died at her home at 103 Fairway Drive in Fort Mill, S.C., on Monday, July 23, 2007, after an extended illness with ovarian cancer.
She is survived by her husband, Joe Kenneth Hill; two sons, Byron Kenneth Hill of Rock Hill, S.C., and Gregory Patrick Hill of Charlotte, N.C.; one daughter-in-law, Kristen Hanson Hill; two grandchildren, Jackson and Caitlin Hill of Rock Hill; two brothers, J. H. Hopkins, Jr. and Martin L. Hopkins of Pendleton, SC and one sister, Linda H. Hill of Roswell, GA, brother-in-law, G. Stanley Hill of Roswell, GA and two sisters-in-law, Louise Sadler Hopkins and Becky Tollison Hopkins of Pendleton, S.C.; and several nieces and nephews. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, J. H. Hopkins Sr. and Janie L. Hopkins of Pendleton.
Joan was a member of Unity Presbyterian Church in Fort Mill. She served as Co-chairperson of the Martha and Mary Circle, The Service Circle and Youth Group Leader for Senior High's. She was Past President of Rose Garden Club
She graduated from Pendleton High School and from Limestone College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics. She was a homemaker and was also employed by State Farm Insurance in Fort Mill for 12 years.

Graveside services will be held at Lancaster Memorial Park Mausoleum at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 26, 2007. A Memorial service will be held at Unity Presbyterian Church on Thursday, July 26 at 2 p.m. Family will receive friends at Unity Church Fellowship Hall tonight from 6 until 8. The Rev. Jeannie Bickett will be officiating.
