CATAWBA -- Mr. Kyle Wilson Ellison, 15, of 4782 Cureton Ferry Road, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2007.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, S.C., with Dr. Michael E. "Mickey" Bolus officiating. Burial will be private.
A devoted son, brother and friend, Kyle was born in Chester, S.C. and was a son of James Gambrell Ellison and Tracie Dawn Wilson Ramsey. He was a rising sophomore at Rock Hill High School and a member of Hopewell Presbyterian Church. Kyle enjoyed fishing, baseball and skateboarding. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the USC Fighting Gamecocks. He especially enjoyed hanging-out and singing with his buddies in their pick-up band whenever he could.
Kyle is survived by his parents, James Gambrell Ellison and wife, Melanie of Chester; Tracie D. Ramsey and husband, Keith of the home; three brothers, Chris Ramsey of Rock Hill and Masters Nathan Ellison and Jakob Ellison, both of Chester; three sisters, Mrs. Typhanie McCrorey and Miss Brittanie Ellison, both of Rock Hill and Miss Lauren Orr of Chester; his paternal great-grandfather, Robert S. Banks Sr. of Chester; his paternal grandparents, Dean and Cynthia Banks Nester of Greeley, Colo., and Rickey and Helen Gregory of Chester; and his maternal grandmother, Mary Sue Ramsey, of Rock Hill.
Kyle was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert Dorn Ellison, Robert S. Banks Jr., and Sylvia Ann Wilson.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 7:30 p.m. today, Aug. 3, 2007 and other times at the home.
