YORK -- Mrs. Frances Rawls Romain, 83, of 1891 Loggen Road, passed away Monday, July 30, 2007, at home.
A graveside service with American Legion military honors will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007 at Grandview Memorial Park on Cherry Road, with Pastor Kerry Ohiser officiating.
Born Oct. 1, 1923 in Rock Hill, S.C., Mrs. Romain was a daughter of the late T. F. Rawls and the late Ethel Whitesell Rawls. She served in the U.S. Army during World War II and became an RN under the GI Bill in St. Petersburg, Fla. She retired from nursing at Lake Wales Hospital in Lake Wales, Fla., and moved back to Rock Hill and then to York where she lived till she passed. She was the widow of the late William A. Romain Sr.
Mrs. Romain is survived by her son, William A. Romain Jr. of Orlando, Fla.; her daughter, Margaret Susan Moretz and her husband, Arnold of York; her grandson, Zachary Moretz of York; and her sister, Nancy Cannon of Cambridge, Md.
