ROCK HILL -- Mrs. Oma Workman Barnes, 101, died Friday, Aug. 17, 2007, at her home.
A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19, 2007 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel with Dr. Shelton Sanford officiating. Burial will take place prior to the service on Sunday at Laurelwood Cemetery.
She was born at her parents' home, Buckton Plantation, near Camden, S.C., a daughter of the late Edward McBurnell Workman and the late Margaret Neely Workman. She was the widow of Ladson Adville Barnes Sr. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and a homemaker.
Surviving are her son, Ladson Adville Barnes Jr. of Fort Mill; her sisters, Laurie W. Zemp of Sumter, S.C., and Elizabeth W. McNinch of Camden, S.C.; her grandchildren, Lucille B. Glass and Ladson A. Barnes III, both of Rock Hill and Rebecca B. Francis of Providence, R.I.; her great-grandchildren, Franklin D. Marshall IV, Mary M. Lazenby, Katherine R. Francis, Tyler B. Francis, Shaun C. Barnes and Cassandra L. Barnes; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 4 to 6 p.m. today at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill.
