YORK -- Mrs. Ruby Dunlap McCleave, 82, of 114 Valley Road, York, S.C., departed this life Thursday, Aug. 16, 2007, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, S.C.
She was born July 26, 1925, a daughter of the late Israel and Ola Pressley Dunlap. She was one of 12 children born to this union.
Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Monday at Clinton Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church in York, with Rev. Grady Sharps officiating and Rev. David Dunlap eulogizing. Burial will be at Uniondale Cemetery in York.
The family will receive friends from 3:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, August 20, 2007, at Clinton Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church.
She joined New Home A.M.E. Zion Church at an early age and later became a member of Mount Zion Church of God in Gastonia, N.C. She was a faithful servant in the church. She was a retired homemaker and care provider for many years.
She leaves to cherish fond memories of her life, three sisters, Evelyn Dunlap of York, Emma Barnett of Gastonia and Mazeola McConnells of York; one brother, Bishop David C. Dunlap (Jennie Mae) of Gastonia; two daughters, Brenda Floyd (Rev. George Floyd) of York and Faye McCleave of the home; two sons, Joe Ray McCleave of Rock Hill and Rev. Dennis McCleave (Belle) of Sharon; 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The body may be viewed from 6 to 8 tonight at the Chapel of Wright Funeral Home.
