ROCK HILL -- Mr. James Victor Hunter, of 229 Bowser St., died Thursday, Aug. 16, 2007.
The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mt. Prospect Baptist Church, with the Rev. C.D. Montgomery officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park - Cherry Road.
He was born in Seneca, S.C., the son of the late Mr. James Hunter Sr. and the late Mrs. Hennie Mack Hunter. He served in the U.S. Army and was a career veteran, having served in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Sons of Light No. 61, a charter member of the Rock Hill Optimist Club, and a member of VFW Post 3746 and Sterling Lodge 344 I.B.P.O.E. of W. He was a member of Mt. Prospect Baptist Church.
Mr. Hunter is survived by his wife, Dorothy Douglas Hunter of the home; two daughters, Lenora (Clyde Sr.) Joseph of St. Martinsville, La. and Jacquelyn L. Douglas of Rock Hill; two grandchildren, Clyde Jr. and Jordan Joseph, both of St. Martinsville, La.; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Carpenter of New York, N.Y., and Mrs. Nina Jackson of Atlantic City, N.J.
Mr. Hunter may be viewed from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. today at Robinson Funeral Home and from noon until time of the service Wednesday at the church. The family will receive friends at the home.
