LANCASTER -- Mrs. Willie Mae Smart Roberts, 89, widow of the late Jessie Wilburn Roberts, of Lancaster passed away Monday, Sept. 17, 2007, at Springs Memorial Hospital. She was born Jan. 18, 1918, in Pineville, N.C., a daughter of the late William Bryant Smart and Mattie Mae Rollins Smart. She was a member of the Crestview Baptist Church and had retired from Clark Control after 27 years of service.
A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Roberts will be held today, Sept. 19, 2007, at 2 p.m. at Crestview Baptist Church, with the Rev. Scott Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Lancaster Memorial Park.
Mrs. Roberts is survived by two sons, William B. Roberts and his wife, Judy and Bobby L. Roberts and his wife, Shelby, all of Lancaster; a daughter, Norma Jean Stacks of Lancaster; a sister, Penny Smart of Lancaster; three granddaughters, Debbie Garner, Donna Faile and Paula Stacks; four great-grandchildren, Matthew Stacks, Bailey Faile, Sarah Ann Faile and Adair Garner; and one great-great-granddaughter, Summer Stacks.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2 p.m. today, Sept. 19, 2007, at Crestview Baptist and other times at her home, 1314 Springdale Road, Lancaster.
