ATLANTA -- Franklin Marcellus Chisholm, 43, of Lithonia, Ga., formerly of Rock Hill, passed away Friday, Sept. 14, 2007, after a brief illness. Mr. Chisholm was the son of Francis R. and Betty H. Chisholm of Rock Hill, S.C. He graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science degree from Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte in 1986. He was a branch bank manager of SunTrust Bank in Lawrenceville, Ga. He was a member of New Beginning Baptist Church in Decatur, GA.
The surviving family members include his parents of Rock Hill; his brother and sister-in-law, Alfred R. and Blanche G. Chisholm of Columbia, S.C.; his "honorable" sister and brother-in-law, Revs. Devia C. Phinisee and Isaiah D. Phinisee Sr. of Irmo, S.C.; two nephews, Phillip R. G. Chisholm of St. Louis, Mo., and Emery M. Alexander Chisholm of Charleston, S.C.; two nieces, Jarvin E.D. Phinisee of Irmo and Blanche S. Christina Chisholm of Columbia; along with a large host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
The funeral will be noon Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007, at New Mount Olivet AME Zion Church in Rock Hill, S.C., with the Rev. Alvin W. McLamb presiding. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park - Cherry Road.
The family will receive friends from 11 to 11:45 a.m. Saturday at the church and other times at the home of his parents, 435 S. Dave Lyle Blvd., Rock Hill. Memorial gifts in the memory of Mr. Chisholm may be donated to the New Mt. Olivet Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 10769, Rock Hill, SC 29731.
