ROCK HILL -- Mrs. Shirley Elizabeth "Libby" Conner Carter, 69, of 805 Old Friendship Road passed away Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007 at Piedmont Medical Center.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2007, at Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel, 355 E. White St., with the Revs. David Carter, Tommy Tucker and Tony Slawson officiating, with burial at Grandview Memorial Park on Cherry Road.
A native of Rock Hill, Mrs. Carter was a daughter of the late Luke and Frances Baker Conner. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, worked for J.P. Stevens (Industrial Plant), and retired from Fabric Resources of Mullins, S.C. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by her brother, Sonny Conner and brother-in-law, Bobby Rawdon.
Mrs. Carter is survived by her husband, Jimmy L. Carter; her sons, Jimmy L. Carter II and his wife, Deborah and Mark T. Carter and his wife, Sheila, all of Rock Hill; her daughters, Wanda C. Williams and her husband, Eddie of Reidsville, N.C., and Edie C. Strange and her husband, Jerry of Rock Hill; her sisters, Mickey Sumpter and her husband, Lewis and Jean Rawdon, all of Rock Hill and Cathy Hamilton and her husband, Jeff of Waxhaw, N.C.; her sister-in-law, Betty Conner of Fort Lawn, S.C.; her grandchildren, Lacey, Eddie, Carly, Nikki, Stephanie, Hailey, Jocilyn and Benjamin; and one great-grandson, Ryan.
