ROCKINGHAM, N.C. -- Mrs. Janie Elizabeth Crume, 90, of Rockingham, N.C., died Monday, Nov. 26, 2007, at Britthaven of Hamlet.
Mrs. Crume was born April 2, 1917, in York County, S.C., a daughter of the late H. H. and Sarah Richardson Griffin. She was a member of Church of Christ of Rockingham. She retired from Aleo Manufacturing Company. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Crume; three sisters; and one brother.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007, at 2 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Kevin Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Richmond County Memorial Park.
She is survived by one son, Michael W. Crume and wife, Elaine of Hamlet; one daughter, Barbara Liggins of Zebulon, N.C.; two brothers, James Griffin and Jerry Griffin of Fort Mill, S.C.; four sisters, Lucille Grant, Phyllis Carswell and Pat Corley, all of Fort Mill, S. C., and Carolyn Faught of Jackson, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Melanie Davey, Mary Lib Smith and Michael W. Crume Jr.; four great-grandchildren, Matthew, Dalton Smith, Michael W. Crume III and Matthew Crume.

The family will receive friends today from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home and then again one hour prior to the service and other times at the home of her son, Michael W. Crume.
