CATAWBA -- Mrs. Carol Blackmon Evans, 71, went home to be with Jesus on Monday, Dec. 10, 2007.
The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007, at Providence Baptist Church, with Dr. Larry Twitty officiating and the Rev. R. B. Ashley assisting. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
A native of South Carolina, Mrs. Evans was a daughter of the late A. Q. Blackmon and the late Peggy Faile Blackmon. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church. She was a homemaker who ministered to families in need with her baking, cooking and caring spirit.
A loving wife, mother and mawmaw, Mrs. Evans is survived by her husband, James L. Evans Sr.; her sons, James L. Evans Jr. of Richburg, S.C., Kenneth D. Evans and Douglas "Glen" Evans, both of Rock Hill; her daughters, Deborah F. Evans and Cathy E. Winn, both of Rock Hill; her brothers, Don Blackmon of Florida and Larry Blackmon of Rock Hill; her sister, Pansy Wille of Florida; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, and other times at the home.
