CHESTER -- Faye Sides Coogler Watson, 77, of Surfside Beach, S.C., formerly of Chester, S.C., died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007, at Waccamaw Community Hospital in Murrells Inlet.
A graveside funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Evergreen Cemetery, with the Rev. Clay Waldrip officiating.
Mrs. Watson was born in Great Falls, S.C. on Feb. 24, 1930, a daughter of the late David P. and Elizabeth Hensley Sides. She was a graduate of Chester High School Class of 1947 and attended the North Trenholm Road Baptist Church in Columbia. Twice married, she was the widow of Charles B. Coogler and William Watson.
After her husband, Charlie died from Mutiple Sclerosis in 1985, Faye committed to assist in finding the cause, cure and prevention of MS by volunteering to do anything from labeling newsletters to assisting clients with shopping and transportation. She served the S.C. Chapter Board of Directors Client Services and Public Relations and Education Committees with a positive attitude and words of constant encouragement. She said, "Never give up, the day we find the cure could be tomorrow in reality and should always be tomorrow in your heart."

Surviving are her brother, William Harrison Sides of Baltimore, Md.; two sisters, Julia Sides McGarity of Chester and Margie Sides Huffman of Surfside Beach, S.C.; nieces, Peggy M. McKeown of Charlotte, N.C., and Libby M. Lee of Baton Rouge, La.; and a number of great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, David P. Sides II.
