CLOVER -- Ned Carroll, 78, of 1611 N. Beersheba Road, Clover, S.C., died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, S.C.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2007, at M. L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Tommy Hope officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at M. L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home.
Mr. Carroll was born Sept. 16, 1929, in Kings Mountain, N.C., to the late Mina Victoria Wright and William Moore Carroll. Mr. Carroll served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and retired as Staff Sergeant after 20 years. He also retired from Groendyke Transport, with over one million miles accident free.
Survivors are his wife, Laura Carroll of Gainesville, Texas; two daughters, Billie Carroll of Clover and Elaine Clifton and husband, John of Estes Park, Colo.; three sons, Ned Carroll and Carie of The Colony, Texas, David Carroll and wife, Kim of Gainesville, Texas and Chuck Carroll of Gainesville, Texas; two stepdaughters, Lynda Woodruff and husband, Wayne of Dallas, Texas, Georgia Goetz and husband, Donnie of San Angelo, Texas; and nine grandchildren, Alisha Carroll, Victoria Herold, Megan and Blake Carroll, Elizabeth Poeheler, John Clifton, Rodney Massey and Carrie and Greg Goetz.
