McCONNELLS -- Mr. Willie "Bill" Latta Williams, 86, of 120 Brattonsville Road, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2007, at Rock Hill Health Care in Rock Hill, S.C.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in McConnells, S.C., with the Rev. Anthony Johnson officiating and the Rev. George Lowry eulogizing. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Willie Latta Williams attended York County schools. He was the president of the Rock Hill Prayer Band, deacon of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in McConnells SC. for over 60 years. He was an original member of the Palmetto Jubilees Gospel Quartet and he served as a hymn choir leader at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in McConnells.
He was preceded in death by his brother John Latta.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Miles Williams and 12 children, Margaret Lindsay of Charlotte, N.C., Mamie McClurkin of Rock Hill, Doretha (Arthur) Shannon of Winston-Salem, N.C., Willie (Ora Mae) Williams Jr. of York, S.C., Barbara Adams of Charlotte, Robert Brown of Charlotte, Lois (Ronnie) McGriff of Charlotte, Gloria (John) Watson of Lexington, N.C., Ernest Williams of Lexington, Dennis Williams of McConnells, Sherrie (Marion) Smith of Rock Hill, Vanessa (David) Hemphill of Rock Hill; 41 grandchildren; 93 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Paula McCleave, Dorothy Shealy and Margaret Blackwell; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A public viewing will be from 6 until 7 p.m. today, Dec. 26, 2007, at the Chapel of Wright Funeral Home. Family visitation will be held from 1 until 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church prior to the funeral services.
