CHESTER -- It is with great sadness and love that James Hugh Martin has passed on to be with the Lord, Dec. 25, 2007.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Evergreen Cemetery, with the Rev. Donald Scoggins and the Rev. Joey Shetley officiating.
Mr. Martin was born May 29, 1927, a son of the late Guy H. Martin and Alice Johnson Martin Griffin. He was a lifetime honorary Deacon at Liberty Baptist Church, a charter member of the West Chester Fire Department and a 50 year member of Sandy River Masonic Lodge 207. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and was retired from Rock Hill Printing & Finishing and Springs Industries.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Juanita L. Martin; four sons, James H. Martin Jr. of Easley, Thomas H., Andrew H. and John H. Martin, all of Chester, S.C.; five grandchildren; and a beloved nephew, Eddie Simmons. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances Morgan and Margaret Rollins; and a brother, Charles Martin.
