McCONNELLS -- Mr. Robert Edward Lee Blackwell, 84, of 336 Naturewoods Road died Monday, Dec. 24, 2007, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2007, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, with the Revs. Rick Sturgis and Mike Shaffer officiating. Burial will take place at Grandview Memorial on Cherry Road.
A native of Cherokee County, S.C., Mr. Blackwell was a son of the late William Carson Blackwell and the late Minnie Mae Bright Blackwell. He was a carpenter, a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II and of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Elizabeth Cossette Fincher.
Mr. Blackwell is survived by his son, Edward Blackwell of York; his daughters, Kathleen B. Hunter of Rock Hill and Margaret B. Berry and Vanessa B. Hinson, both of McConnells; his sister, Madeline Weathers of Lincolnton, N.C.; 15 grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; seven step great-grandchildren; and two step great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today, Dec. 27, 2007, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, S.C., and other times at the home.
