FORT MILL -- Douglas C. Walters, 50, passed away at his home in Tega Cay on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007, after a battle with lung cancer.
Doug was born on Feb. 24, 1957, in Newark, Ohio. He was the son of the late Robert Walters and Isabelle Sheets of Johnson City, Tenn.
Doug was the owner/executive chef of Jump N' Java Café /Bistro 160 Catering. He was a member of the American Culinary Federation and a graduate of Rio Grande University, Rio Grande, Ohio, where he was a member of Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity.
Survivors include his loving wife of 25 years, Jane and his two beautiful daughters Lauren and Mallory of Tega Cay; two brothers, Mitch and his wife Danea and Gregg and his wife, Sandi, all from Bristol, Tenn.; brother-in-law, George Schmid and his wife, Maura of Prospect, Ky.; sisters-in law, Nancy King and her husband, Daniel of Columbus, Ohio and Lorraine Otis and her husband, Wes of Ringwood, Ill.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation is Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at Carolinas Cornerstone Church, 1790 Gardendale Road, Fort Mill, S.C., with memorial service to follow.
Memorials may be made in Doug's name to Duke University Medical Center, Albert Thoracic Oncology Research Program, Durham, NC.
