LAKE WYLIE -- Jean Littlejohn Meyer passed away in the early morning hours of Jan. 2, 2008, at her home on Lake Wylie, after a long battle with cancer. Throughout all of her bouts with cancer, over more than 20 years, she maintained a positive outlook on life which served as an inspiration to everyone that knew her.
Jean was born Feb. 13, 1934, in Charlotte. She was the daughter of Wendell Littlejohn and Jacqueline Wright Littlejohn. Her grandfather was Frank N. Littlejohn the Chief of Police in Charlotte for many years.
She graduated from Central High School in the Class of 1952 and was also a graduate of Woman's College in Greensboro. In 1960, she married George Meyer. The Meyers became world travelers as a result of George's work and they lived at times in The United Arab Emirates and Israel. In the early 1980s, they moved to Florida where they remained until they retired to their home on Lake Wylie in 1999, after which they became members of Allison Creek Presbyterian Church.
Jean is survived by her husband, George; her stepmother, Chloe Littlejohn of Mint Hill; and her sister, Linda Klinesmith of Vail, N.C.
Never miss a local story.
It was Jean's wish to be cremated, those services are being provided by Greene Funeral Home in Rock Hill, S.C. There will be a memorial service at Allison Creek Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, Jan. 9, at 2 in the afternoon.
