LAURINBURG, N.C. -- Mr. O. L. Collins Jr., 74, of 600 S. Turnpike Road, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008.
A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church officiated by the Revs. Ralph Brown and Patricia Stone.
He is survived by his wife, Ernestine Patterson Collins; two daughters, Suzanne Lagerholm of Odense, Denmark and Rebecca Collins of Laurinburg; a sister, Jean C. Hood of Fort Mill, S.C.; four grandchildren, Clara Lagerholm, Grace Lagerholm, Adam Collins and Olivia Collins.
Born Jan. 13, 1933, in Fort Mill, S.C., he was a son of the late Otis L. and Grace Moore Collins. He was a 1955 graduate of Clemson University and served with the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957. He served in textile management with Springs Mills, J. P. Stevens and later Charles Craft.

O. L. was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the United Methodist Men, the Ed Guest Sunday school class, and served as an usher. He was also a former member of the Laurinburg Kiwanis Club.
