FORT MILL -- Eugene "Gene" E. Taylor, 65, of 302 Confederate St., went to be with the Lord on Dec. 30, 2007.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at Lighthouse Pentecostal Holiness Church on Hwy 21 in Fort Mill. Gene donated his body to Science in hopes to further medical education.
Gene was the son of the late John and Sarah Smith Taylor. He was born in Crossville, Tenn. He is survived by his sisters, Mary J. Driver and Betty T. Nichols, both of Tennessee; a host of nieces and nephews; and his South Carolina friends that he considered his family. He was preceded in death by his sister, Estella T. Carter and three brothers, Winelle, Odell and Robert Lee Taylor. He also left his "Little Angel Blue Eyes" Kylee Danielle Sprott, a baby who captured his heart from the beginning of her life.
After serving in the U.S. Army, Gene worked as a paint contractor. He, along with Millie Lambert started a nursing home ministry that he loved. He sang and played the guitar for his church. He wrote songs for the Glory of God. He loved the Lord and showed it by doing anything he could do to help others. He will be missed by all that loved him.
Never miss a local story.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lighthouse Pentecostal Holiness Church.
