ROCK HILL -- Mr. Charles Stewart McLean, 88, of 1805 Matthews Road passed away Friday, Jan. 11, 2008, at Park Point Village at Willowbrook Court.
A native of Gaston County, N.C., he was a son of the late John D. and Jessie B. Stewart McLean. Mr. McLean was retired from the U.S. Air Force and an engineer with Celanese Textiles. He graduated from Belmont Abbey and N.C. State and was a member of American Legion Frank Roach Post 34, Julian Lake Sunday School Class and Oakland Avenue Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Slater Mund McLean of the home; sons, John Charles McLean of Raleigh, N.C., and Everette Allen McLean of Rock Hill; grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth McLean and Stewart Bergmann McLean, both of Raleigh; and brothers, James A. McLean of Macadenville, N.C., and Frank E. McLean of Mt. Holly, N.C.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 14, 2008, at Oakland Avenue Presbyterian Church. Interment will be private at Grandview Memorial Park, Cherry Road. Visitation will be 6:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home, Rock Hill.
