ROCK HILL -- Mrs. Mary Huey Boulware, 86, of 219 Warner St., was called to be with the Lord on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008.
The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Ebenezer Baptist Church, with the Rev. Charles Woods officiating and her grandson, the Rev. Dr. Bernard Winchester delivering the eulogy. Entombment will be at Grandview Memorial Park.
Born in Chester County, S.C., Mrs. Boulware was the daughter of the late Willie Archie and Viola Huey Pratt. She was a graduate of Clinton High School. She was a devoted wife and manager for Boulware Appliance Service. She was a devoted member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. She was president of the Ministers', Deacons' and Trustees' Wives, secretary of the Willing Workers Auxiliary, treasurer of the Missionary Society, secretary of the Crawford Road Block Club, and a member of White Hill Chapter 350 Order of Eastern Stars, where she served faithfully until her health declined. Survivors are her husband of sixty-seven years, Michael Boulware, Jr. of the home; her daughters, Nancy Samuels of Fort Washington, Md., Mary Phillips of Hyattsville, Md., Edna Murray (Frank) of Chester, S.C., and Lois Sanders of Rock Hill; her sons, Edward Boulware (Marie) of Rock Hill and Melvin Boulware (Anita) of Ft. Washington, MD; she reared her deceased sister-in-law's four children, Linda Miller Dolean (Fred) of Irvington, N.J., Ernest Miller, Jr. of New York, N.Y., Ruby Jean Miller Simpson and Ernestine Miller Simpson, both of Statesville, N.C.; 21 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She also leaves to cherish fond memories, two special aunts, Lillie Adams and Mary Burton, both of Charlotte, N.C..
