ROCK HILL -- Ms. Karen Proctor Allen, 57, of 142 Green Bay Drive passed away Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008, at her home after a battle with cancer.
A memorial service for Ms. Allen will be held 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, with the Rev. Harold Leatherman officiating. Burial will be private.
Born in Hickory, N.C., Ms. Allen was the daughter of the late Howard Olin Proctor and the late Betty Leatherman Lail. She was a member of Plateau United Methodist Church in Vale, N.C., and worked as a plant scheduler with Samuel Strapping Inc. in Fort Mill, S.C.
Ms. Allen is survived by her companion of 16 years, Billy Biggers; her brothers, Dennis Proctor and wife, Donna of Eden, N.C., Tim Lail and wife, Rhonda and Terry Lail and wife, Christy, all of Conover, N.C.; her sisters, Dianne Proctor of Fort Mill, S.C., Phyllis Carpenter and husband, Todd and Libby Lail and Tim Cobb of Conover, N.C., and Patricia "Stormy" Clark and husband, Rick of Rock Hill, S.C.; her three nieces, Ericka Kauer, Christine Titus and Lauren Lail; her nephew, Dennis Proctor Jr.; her special friends, Avyn and Dennis Rhodes and Hannah and Evan Beavers; and her great-niece and nephew, Ava and Roman Kauer.
The family will receive friends following the memorial service.
