ROCK HILL -- Mr. Leroy C. Dabney Sr. 91, formerly of 791 Rabun Lane, passed away Friday Feb. 29, 2008, at Park Pointe Village.
Born July 15, 1916 in York County to the late John and Annie S. Pittman Dabney, Mr. Dabney was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Theadora McIntyre Dabney; and brother, Garnett "Dick" Dabney.
An avid coin collector, he was a retired supervisor for Celanese after 30 years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Rock Hill, founding Deacon of Calvary Baptist Church and a Sunday School teacher. He served his country proudly during W.W.II in the Army Air Corp and was a member for 60 years of the Frank Roach Post No. 34.
Surviving are his daughters, Dianna Helfrich of Greenwood and Margaret D. Johnson of Rock Hill; sons, Leroy C. Dabney Jr. of Fort Mill and Frank Dabney Of Charleston; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sister, Margaret Hinson of Rock Hill.

Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Chapel of Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home conducted by the Reverend Larry Sizemore, William Elder and Ray Long. Interment at Grandview Memorial Park. Visitation will be 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
