NAPLES, Fla. -- Hugh S. "Buddy" Lockridge Jr., 77, formerly of Clover, S.C., a beloved husband, father and friend, left this earth and walked into the arms of our Lord on March 13, 2008, after courageously fighting pulmonary disease. Mr. Lockridge was born July 15, 1930, to the late Hugh S. and Martha W. Lockridge. He nurtured and raised his family in Naples, Fla., as a park ranger at Collier Seminole Start Park until leasing the Royal Palm Hammock Gas Station and Restaurant on the corner of U.S. 41 and State Road 92 in the early 70's. Upon partial retirement he worked for Napa Auto Parts until his disease forced full retirement in 1994.
He was surrounded by the love of his wife, Louise of Naples, Fla., for the past 56 years; daughters, Sandy Hagedorn and Sheila Bryant; grandchildren, James and Jessica Bryant, Sarah and Leigh Ann Hagedorn; great-grandchildren, Robert and Lance Levi, Haley, Lacey and Donald James Bryant; brother-in-law, Harold Jefferies; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 16, 2008, at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home in Clover. Funeral service will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Rick Hartsoe. Interment will be in Woodside Cemetery, Clover.
