LAFAYETTE, La. -- Mr. David A. Mobley, a native of Rock Hill, was born June 4, 1950, to the late Andy Mobley Jr. and Lillie Mae Thompson Mobley. On March 17, 2008, God called him home to heaven.
A memorial service will be 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2008, at Mount Zion Baptist Church in McConnells, with the Rev. Anthony Johnson officiating.
He was a longtime resident of Lafayette, La.
He is survived by his wife, Vivian Parker Mobley of the home; two sons, Marcellus (Mary) Mobley of Richmond, Va., and Christian Mobley of the home; one daughter, Lena McLaughlin of East Orange, N.J.; five grandchildren; stepmother, Ella Mobley of Newark, N.J.; two brothers, Andy (Lori) Mobley of St. Paul, Minn., and Harry (Mary) Neal of Rock Hill; three sisters, Betty Hargrave of Salisbury, N.C., Helen Smith of Rock Hill and Darlene Adams-White of Charlotte, N.C. He also leaves to cherish his memory several godchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
