ROCK HILL -- Mr. Jimmie Elijah Lockhart, 68, of Bluefield West Virginia and 1166 Sensation Road, passed away at St. Frances Hospital on May 30, 2008.
Born in Panther, W. Va., to the late Oliver and Jane Blankenship Lockhart on December 18, 1939, Mr. Lockhart was a coal miner and member of Old Regular Baptist Church. He is survived by his common-law wife, Betty Justice Lockhart of the home; daughter, Sharon Lockhart Carpenter of Rock Hill; son, Dwayne Ted Lockhart of Rock Hill; stepsons, Randall Justice of Princeton W. Va., and Jefery Justice of Myrtle Beach; sisters, Jeanette Siklese of Abeline, Kan., and Micki Short of Iaeger, W. Va.; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Florence Lockhart; daughter, Lucy Kimsey; and brother, Oliver Lockhart Jr.
A Celebration of Life Service will take place at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2008, in The Chapel of Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home, followed by interment at Grandview Memorial Park.
