ROCK HILL -- Ruth R. Gregory, 87, of Agape Senior Service/Agape Hospice, 159 Sedgewood Drive, formerly of McNair St., went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, June 17, 2008.
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, June 19, 2008, at Grandview Memorial Park, Cherry Road, with Dr. Phillip Jones, Agape Chaplain Miriam Mick and soloist Sammy Simpson.
A native of Newberry County, Mrs. Gregory was born Aug. 11, 1920. She was a daughter of the late Ike and Bertie Rollins and was preceded in death by her husband, W. Banks Gregory; son, Ralph W. Gregory; two sisters, Margie Baskin and Myrtle Koon; and one brother, Lacy Rollins.
She is survived by two sons, Richard B. Gregory (Shirley) of Rock Hill, S.C., and Gerald R. Gregory (companion, Barbara) of Kershaw, S.C.; one daughter, Christine E. Price (Harold) of Waterloo, S.C.; her daughter in law, Betti S. Gregory of Clinton, S.C.; nine grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

She worked at the J.P. Stevens Industrial Mill for many years. After retirement, she was a homemaker. Ruth was a member of Trinity Church of the Nazarene and a former member of College Park Baptist Church, where she worked in the children's department and VBS for many years.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. today, June 18, 2008, at Whitesell Funeral Home and other times at the home of Richard B. Gregory, 1246 Eisenhower Road, Rock Hill.
