ROCK HILL -- Mr. Odell Douglas, 81, of 829 Arlington Ave. passed away Monday, June 16, 2008, at his home. He was a native of Rock Hill, the son of the late Mattie Douglas Harris and the late George Cureton.
He was a former farmer, cook and tile setter. He confessed his faith at an early age and joined Tabernacle AME Zion Church in Lesslie, S.C. In later years, he moved his membership to Harmony United Methodist Church in Edgemoor, S.C. He was married to Mary Mackey Douglas, who preceded him in death.
He is survived by two daughters, Mary Louise Douglas and Patricia Ann Douglas, both of Rock Hill; two sons, John Odell (Pamela) Douglas and Willie Eugene (Arnnetta) Mackey, both of Rock Hill; four granddaughters, Tyra Douglas, LaBrinia Mackey, Nicole (Bernard) Young and Tiffinay Douglas; one grandson, John Douglas; two great-granddaughters; two great-grandsons; three sisters, Joynce (Ernest) Gabriel of Charlotte, N.C., Mattie Douglas Taylor of Baltimore, Md., and Bettye Jo Fuller of Greenville, S.C.; two brothers, James Robert Douglas of the home and Lonnie Harris of Greenville; four sisters-in-law, Annie Douglas, Helen Cousar, Jeanett Stroud and Frances Mackey, all of Rock Hill; one brother-in-law, Joe L. Mackey of New York; special friends, Lola Dunham; and a host of nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Harmony United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Horace Whtie officiaitng. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Clemons-McCray Funeral home. The body will lie in state one hour before the service.
