ROCK HILL -- Mr. David Edward Hinson Sr., 83, of White Oak Manor passed away Sunday, July 6, 2008, at Piedmont Medical Center.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel, with the Rev. Randy Hatcher officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.
A native of Rock Hill, Mr. Hinson was a son of the late James Bogan Hinson and the late Minnie Ella Smith Hinson. He was a U.S. Marine veteran of WWII and a member of the VFW Post 2889. He retired from Rock Hill Printing & Finishing with over 40 years of service and was a member of Park Baptist Church. He was the widower of Gladys Price Hinson and was also preceded in death by four brothers, Grover, Hazel, Eugene and Russell Hinson and two sisters, Grace Shillinglaw and Louise Hinson Bell.
Surviving are his sons, David E. Hinson Jr. and his wife, Linda, of Rock Hill, Barry Steven Hinson and his wife, Yvonne, of Gastonia, N.C., and Keith Hinson and his wife, Nancy, of Rock Hill; his daughter, Pamela H. Baynard and her husband, Mickey, of Clemson, S.C.; his sister, Helen Watson of Union City, Ga.; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today, July 8, 2008, at Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel, 355 E. White St., Rock Hill and other times at the home of Pauline Harper, 4170 Wedgewood Court, Rock Hill.
