CHESTER -- Mrs. Joyce Williams, 59, of 122 Henry St., passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2008, at her home.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at Union Baptist Church, with the Rev. Robert Entzminger officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Chester, SC.
Born in Boonton, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Percy Jones and Tucker Worthy Land. She was a member of Union Baptist Church, where she served on the Missionary Society, President of the B.C. Choir, member of the Usher Board and a member of the AP&B Society No. 8.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathaniel Williams Sr., and a son, Adakas Treun Williams. Survivors are six sons, Nathaniel Williams Jr. of Chester, S.C., Alfred Lamont Williams I of Rock Hill, S.C., William Williams of Lynchburg, Va., Carllester Marquis Williams, Kendrick Williams and Trevis Lavert Williams, all of the home; a daughter, Wynetta Jameisha Williams, of the home; two brothers, Palmer Worthy and Ullister R. Jones, both of Chester; one sister, Lottie (Obie) Land McClinton of Chester; and six grandchildren.
Viewing will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today and Wednesday until 11 a.m. at King's Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery, St., Chester. The body will be placed in the church at noon. The family will receive friends at the residence.
