ROCK HILL -- Mr. Willie Charles Knox, 76, of 1952 Londonberry Drive was born Jan. 23, 1932, in York County. On Saturday morning, July 12, 2008, God sent His angel of silence to Piedmont Medical Center to call for Willie Charles Knox, who died suddenly after a brief illness.
Born from the union of Willie Knox and Hattie Mann Knox, he was one of four children, John L Knox (Carrie), Freddie McCray (Alvester) and was preceded in death by one brother, Grover Knox. In 2006, he joined in union with Sandra McCullough. He was a bail bondsman and a businessman. Willie was a faithful member at Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church, where he was an ordained deacon. He was a member of the Supreme Grand Council of America, Palmetto State Grand Council, S.C., King Solomon Lodge No. 5, S.C. Boyd Shrine Temple No. 5 S.C, Ruth Boyd Grand Chapter, O.E.S and S.C Unity Chapter 1 O.E.S., S.C.
Willie loved the Lord and lived his life in Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra; three sons, Jimmy Knox (Brenda), Damon Poage (Natasha) and Brandon McCullough ( Neeka); three daughters, Tonya Diary, Altavia McCullough and Linda Diary, who preceded him in death; seven grandchildren, Myron Knox (Michelle), Rhonda Moore, Afriquica Dowling (Loly), Chimere Craig, Saquavius Harris, Keenan Poage and Daliah Wooten; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. He also had a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He left a legacy of love and compassion and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be today, July 15, 2008, 6 to 8 p.m. at Parker Funeral Home and funeral will be Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church. Pastor Sandra Mason will be officiating services. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
